The Most Beautiful Woman in the World
by Rob Johnson

The most beautiful woman in the world
Does not cause wars (as did Helen)
She stops them, an atom bomb blast of beauty
The degenerate riding in the back of the bus
On the Alvarado line in Los Angeles
Stops his jacking off when he sees her
Beauty is not erotic
The most beautiful woman in the world
Walks into Ricks Cabaret in Houston
and makes the dancers on stage feel naked
The men ashamed, and a little cheated
The most beautiful woman in the world
Bends over the spaghetti sauce she is cooking
Her hair damp and curling on the back of her neck
And I lean over, my hands unseen, and kiss her
Just like the television commercial
The MBWITW is envied by other women
But not by men
Sure sign of the difference
She is no age she is middle age
The middle-aged men love her more
Than they do the young women
Middle aged men are like that
Sure sign, women say, that there is a God
Her train is the wake of Magellan
A comets tail
You follow her down the aisle in grocery stores
Pretending to study the olive oils
Extra virgin, virgin, first press
She is unbearable in the supermarket light
The Most Beautiful Woman in the World
Marches at halftime
And it is the endtime.
