Robert Johnson's short stories have appeared in Crab Creek Review, Hodgepodge, Loonfeather, Palo Alto Review, Panhandler, The Phoenix, Pleiades, Seattle Review, Short Story, Thema, and in the anthology New Texas. He has written reviews for San Diego Magazine and the Denver Post.
