Gary Swaim

Gary Swaim received his A.B. degree in English from the University of California at Riverside and his Ph.D. from the University of Redlands in cooperation with Claremont Graduate University in Comparative Literature and Philosophy. He is currently Professor of Philosophy and Creative Writing at North Lake College in Irving, Texas and Director at the college of the North Lake Community Center for Writers. He has a published collection of poetry, Rider of Asses, a variety of other published poems and short stories, and recently experienced a Dallas-area staged reading of his 3-act play based on the World War II imprisonment of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. He is also one of ten Texas college and university professors selected as Piper Professor for 1999.
